Welcome to my stamping blog!
I hope that you have enjoyed your blog hopping thus far! This is my first time participating with Operation Write Home. I am looking forward to looking over all of your blogs. I'm sure that I will find some great creativity and inspiration for my card making!
If you notice in my mini-profile to the right of this entry, I am a college student. When I learned about Operation Write Home in January 2010, I knew that I wanted to join in on the fun. It's a great organization and a wonderful way to support the troops! I am in a volunteer organization on campus and decided that I wanted to make Operation Write Home a part of our service events. Every two weeks, I host an Operation Write Home get together. I bring in card kits (I make them on the weekend...usually when I don't want to do homework anymore...hehe) and I have my fellow students help me make cards. We have made over 100 cards thus far. I'm hoping that we hit 200+ by the end of May. Operation Write Home will be receiving a big box from us come June!
I was able to complete a couple of cards this Friday to show you some of my recent creations. I tend to buy all of my products from Close to My Heart. However, there have been some great sales lately at Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics. Due to this, you will certainly see some other companies' products used on my cards!
If you look at my two cards below, you will notice that they are using the same color scheme. Sometimes when I am looking at card challenges, I really like to find some that are very open ended. That way, you have the opportunity to really use some imagination! With this being said, I have a challenge for you!
I challenge you to create a card with: blue, cream, or white paper (patterned or solid), brown or red stamping ink, and some sort of decorative detailing! I can't wait to see the card(s) that you create. Please link your card image in my comments!
Next, I ask you to visit Bekah Jo's World! She has some really lovely entries and I have no doubt that she will have a great post for you to read.
