Blog Tour Part One

Hello!

I'm so excited that Operation Write Home is doing a blog tour this weekend.  It is always a lot of fun to see everyone's interpretation of the same theme.  This time around, the theme was birthday, which seems rather fitting, don't you think?  Tomorrow, we get to celebrate our nation's birthday.  While fireworks light up the sky, grills roast all types of scrumptious foods, and festivals linger on, I hope we all remember to take the time to give thanks that we live in a nation where we're able to have such simple luxuries.  Of course, the reason for this freedom is the dedication of our troops, which brings us full circle to the heart of Operation Write Home.

I hope that you check back again tomorrow as I will be posting another card that is more "red, white, and blue".  Until then, enjoy!

(The camera tinted the card colors a bit, they are somewhat brighter in tone).  I used Petal, Twilight, and Sweet Leaf paper from the Winter Cozy paper packet (CTMH).  The stamp is from the May Stamp of the Month set.  The embellishments are from various companies, which names' escape me at the moment.  Eek!

Trick of the trade: this card was turned upside down (figuratively speaking) when I sanded the purple paper.  What a difference it makes on the outcome of the card!
