Creativity in the Works

This week's challenge for OWH Stars and Stamps was a bit of a puzzle for me.  I ended up using a new technique: sponging!  I didn't have the correct card stock color.  So, I took a chocolate stamp pad and used a sponge to stamp a beige piece of paper.  I love the outcome and how it changes the look of the card - drastically.  For some reason, I end up making cards that look a bit "country".  Not sure why, but I'm happy with the finished product.

All of the paper is actually from my mom's old collection.  I love the tweed/basket weave paper behind the "Hi!".  The ribbon is brown, as well.  The camera didn't translate its color very well.  Eek!

Bring on the next challenge! :)

A New Challenge

Well, a week has passed since our Memorial Day blog hop.  It was quite a lot of fun and there was so much inspiration!  I have been very impressed with the cards people have posted; I definitely became a follower of many.

Speaking of following blogs, I have had enough time to get my creative juices flowing this evening to create another card for Heart 2 Heart Challenge.  This time around, I used the Everyday Celebration paper from CTMH and the matching stamp set.  I'm saddened that this paper is no longer sold; it's incredibly vibrant and can be used for a variety of card themes!

Without further ado....

I look forward to seeing what everyone else has created for this week's challenge!  I hope all is well with everyone! :)
