Chantilly Card and Pillow Box

What I love most about Close to My Heart is the variety of uses all of the paper packs provide.  They are incredibly versatile!  One of my favorite papers from the Spring 2013 catalog was Chantilly.  Aren't the colors and design just beautiful?

I created a pillow box using the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week: stitching!  I stitch by hand when I work on my projects.  Unfortunately, no sewing machine here!  However, this has allowed me to become creative in how I use stitching in my projects:

Using Champagne card stock as my base, I glued the Ruby/Hollyhock patterned paper on top.  If you open the picture in full view, you will notice that I stitched Bamboo waxy flax up each side of the two pieces of paper.  I thought it added something extra to the design!  I used Twilight card stock and ink for the sentiment and scalloped oval.  Of course, it wasn't complete without some Twine and sparkles!

To match the pillow box, I created a tri-fold card.  I made the card using the lovely Chantilly patterned paper.  Inside, I used White Daisy and Champagne card stock to provide a place for a written short sentiment.  In order to open the card, the owner must push the band off entirely.

I made a wrap around the card using Burlap ribbon.  Isn't this ribbon fantastic?  I'm in love with it!  Then, I used the repeating Ruby/Hollyhock patterned paper as my pennant.  Twilight ink and card stock was used for the scalloped circle.  The flower image comes from the stamp set "Love Life".
Thank you for stopping by to visit my pillow box and card combo!  I can't wait to see how you have incorporated stitching in your own created items!
