Life is Good

I recently made a card for a Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but then completely forgot to submit it.  Eek!  Regardless, I thought I would share the card that I did create.

This is the sketch that I followed:

I have to say, this was difficult for me!  I'm not used to having the focus at the top of the card.  I chose to use two different Close to My Heart paper packs: Claire and Buzz and Bumble.

I embellished the card with Kraft borders and Chocolate Bakers Twine.

I'm pretty happy with the outcome.  If anything, it was a great exercise to get me out of my "crafters comfort zone"!

Let Your Light Shine

My sister is graduating soon and I wanted to make her a card to celebrate her special achievement!  Playing along with the Freshly Made Sketch this week, I created this card:

I used the CTMH Claire paper pack (love it!) to add color to my card.  I spritzed White Daisy ink (using our spray pen) on the blue base, which adds a nice effect!

I used our blending pen to color the butterflies.  All you need to do is dab the marker onto your ink pad and then the color transfers onto the paper.  Pretty neat!

For my embellishments, I used Sunset twine and bitty sparkles.

Items Used:
Paper: Claire
Colors: Outdoor Denim, White Daisy, Hollyhock, Sunset, Bamboo, Chocolate
Stamps: Perfect Day and other CTMH retired stamp sets
Embellishments: Bakers Twine, Bitty Sparkles
