Birthday Wishes

I was really excited when I found the challenge blog, Seize the Birthday, last week.  I often make "Thank You" cards when I'm crafting.  However, it's always good to have some birthday cards stored away, as well!

So, on with the card sketch that was our challenge for this week:

And this is my creation:

I mixed a lot of different mediums when making this card: Burlap ribbon, Washi tape, and Ink spray!

I used our CTMH Slate Washi tape to make the accent on my pennant.  I placed the tape on our White Daisy cardstock and then cut out the strip.  I liked having the white dots come through the tape.

I added accent brads to each side of the 'Birthday Wishes' banner (stamped on our Cricut Artiste chipboard set).  It gives the card a little something extra!

Thank you for visiting!

CTMH Items Used:

Sweet as Honey

Have you noticed that honeycombs are everywhere this year?  Close to My Heart released the paper pack Buzz and Bumble in their Spring 2013 catalog.  I love that CTMH stays on top of the trends!  I created this card using the mentioned paper pack and Honeycomb stamp set.  This card can easily be used as a thank you card or even as a general greeting card.  I love the versatility of the sentiment, don't you?

I stamped the honeycomb outline on Cocoa cardstock with Cocoa ink.  Then, I stamped the honeycomb image on the pattern paper and cut the hexagons out.

I used Creme Brulee cardstock as the backing for my pennant.  I used a filigree charm as an embellishment.

This card is certainly simple, but has just enough "pop" for my liking!  Thanks for looking!
