Life is Better With You

Seize the Birthday has come up with another great sketch for this week.  I decided to use the Close to My Heart Tommy paper pack to create a card for my Dad's upcoming birthday.  He loves any outdoor activity that involves water... this paper is perfect for him!

This is the sketch we worked with this week:

My Dad's birthday card:

I used three different patterned papers on the white base of the card.  The sentiment is actually a canvas sticker that coordinates with the Tommy paper pack.  I also used two Pewter Accent Brads to add an extra embellishment at the top of the card.

I wrapped three strands of both Outdoor Denim and Cranberry twine around the base of the card.  Then, I created a rosette with striped paper from the Tommy pack.  I added a piece of cranberry card stock (cut with the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge).  Then, stamped the anchor (in Honey ink) on a white circle.  A lot of dimension on one part of the card!  In addition, I added a white chipboard banner underneath the rosette.

The inside of the card also has a few added touches.  I glued a strip of the Tommy paper to the side of the card.  Then, I stamped the rope strand in Honey ink.  I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment in Outdoor Denim ink.

 Thank you for visiting!
